We are all about Women! First UU Church proudly supports us with a space but we aren’t a religious organization…at all. Quite simply the Houston Women’s Group (HWG) is a meet up group of inter generational Women who gather to unplug and plug into some genuine, thought provoking conversation! We’ve been known to use the f-word a lot (no, not that one you dirty bird) FEMINISM! We have the audacity to believe that if Women were given a nurturing space and an invitation for honest dialogue that Women could define feminism for themselves!
Talk is cheap sometimes… but the Houston Women’s Group (HWG) have supported and sponsored local and global initiatives by learning how to support them from dynamic speakers and guest. No other group has been intersecting Women for over 40 years, receiving various accolades including a recent Proclamation from the City of Houston by Mayor Annise Parker for our dedicated service to Women!
We provide a collective space for Women only with an enthusiastic audience where we can hone our speaking skills, discuss hot topics, and learn how other Women are putting their love for people, planet and politics into action. We are not for the politically correct at heart ….we talk about it ALL!
Located in the heart of the museum district, in Houston Texas easily accessible by bus, car, rail and unicycle we gather every Sunday from 10:30AM – Noon to CONNECT, LEARN, & RISE. There is an optional “after party” to eat lunch at restaurant of the group’s choosing.
Well, what are you waiting for grab your best girlfriend and join us to meet Women like and unlike yourselves!
